Position Summary:
The Psychologist provides comprehensive assessment and intervention services to children/youth who exhibit behavioural, emotional, developmental, mental health concerns, and other outstanding problems in functioning. The work involves the delivery of services through psychological assessments and consultation. The Psychologist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children/youth population and concurrent psychiatric disorders - Required
Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health Act, PHIPA, Healthcare Consent Act
Creative, resourcefulness and ability to take initiative
Knowledge of issues involving childhood trauma
Service specific training including Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery
Strong therapeutic and assessment skills, including the ability to work well with other professionals and community agencies
French Language proficiency is an asset
Education and/or Certification:
Ph.D. in Psychology - Required
License to practice in Ontario as a Psychologist or is eligible to become licensed in Ontario – Required
