Position Summary:
The Personal Support Worker supports the day to day functioning of the HART Hub by ensuring a safe, clean and supportive environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager of the HART Hub, the PSW assists clients with basic needs and contributes to a respectful recovery focused atmosphere.
Qualifications:
Monitor and maintain safety on the unit, escalating any concerns to management and clinical staff.
Assist with admissions and discharges. Including documentation of client belongings.
Supports clients during meal times, including meal setup and monitoring for diet and safety issues.
Work with security to monitor and facilitate off-unit passes.
Provide support to clients managing ADL’s, including laundry.
Completes documentation within scope.
Completing vital signs as appropriate.
Education and/or Certification:
Personal Support Worker diploma – required
Registered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) required
CPR and Standard First Aid required
Experience working in Mental Health and addictions preferred.
